Dreampath Discussion:
Dream
Colors
As Fall settles in on the East coast now, we know by the way the leaves turn
that autumn landscapes will soon fill our senses with magnificent vistas
etched in gradient greens, gold, orange and yellow, triggering memories of
pumpkins on porches and cinnamon cider, wafting through open windows and
homes. We are reticent to see it differently, this array of color in
peaceful hues, because we are fused with a sense of harmony again, longing
to be back in sync with the universe. Our dreams sense long before we do,
the path we want to take in heart, and will lead us there, over and over
again in colorful detail.
From ancient times on,
colors have played a significant role in both diagnosing and healing illnesses
of the mind, body and spirit, and represent the same healing properties in
dreams, so we can achieve psychological, physical and spiritual balance in our
lives. We associate colors with moods in common language, and also with levels
of enlightenment in spiritual work. In this sense, recurring colors may point
specifically to one of the chakras or ‘auras’ highlighting the body’s energy
field, often seen by intuitive healers. Each chakra has a separate color
vibration, which corresponds to the physical, psychological and spiritual energy
of the dreamer. For instance, dreaming of orange may point to the second
chakra, or ‘spleen’ which corresponds with sexual energy, the reproductive
system and overall spiritual assertiveness, while dreaming of turquoise, gold,
magenta, silver, and hues of violet in rainbows, swirls, or streams of light
represent levels of spiritual awareness attributed to angels and ascended
masters, correlating to the twelfth chakra body light and resurrection.
Sometimes only one color
will filter through in our dreams, but the difference in contrast and
understanding is immediate, because what we see is so palpable, so intense. A
color not seen before in that exact hue. A shade of something familiar that is
so magnificent we want to stay there, let it linger in our senses, continue to
infuse us with peace and passion, joy and Love, because this is the connection
to color in every dream – Love washing us in brand new colors, rich and radiant
in every scenic landscape.
To understand what a
color means to you in a dream, first pay attention to how you feel in the dream
and upon waking. What are the associations you draw instinctively to certain
colors? Do you think of images or feelings? Does the color call up memories of
events or emotions? Is the color an image unto itself? Totally engaging? Or
remind you of something else? Look to these immediate associations to colors in
dreams to give you primary clues about meaning and interpretation.

Symbols and Scenes:
Colors
& Crayons
In every hue,
array, constellation and pattern,
Colors
in dreams represent the continuous flow of energy and emotion, and how aligned
we are, in essence, with our spiritual centers. We infuse language with color
every day to express moods and feelings, expectations and insight. Many of us
have ‘green thumbs’, turn ‘green with envy’ or ‘red as beets’ and especially
around Halloween, ‘white as ghosts’ to name a few colorful expressions. We say
that someone is ‘feeling blue’ to denote depression, ‘in the pink’ to express a
return to health, and shines ‘bright as a bulb’ to express a particularly gifted
and radiant spirit. Not just symbols, the colors we dream represent creative
and passionate transitions in our lives. As we evolve spiritually, seek
enlightenment beyond material perception, we begin to sense and see ‘color’ in
different dimensions.
Crayons
and coloring books, like paintbrushes and paints, or coloring pens and
pencils, represent the desire to create a new and colorful vision of our lives.
Often in vibrant colors – turquoise, gold, lavender, red, green, orange, yellow
or blue – these dream crayons color in the landscape, teaching us how to see in
different hues and dimensions as children do, free to color outside of the lines
and imagine ourselves in amazing and fantastic adventures. And on these pages,
we are vibrant and beautiful, bathed in brilliant, flowing and fluorescent
colors, for all the world to see. Whether on canvas in chalk, or paper in pen,
with every stroke of the creative brush, these dream crayons yield a brand new
cast and color.

Color Interpretation
A Note About Dream
Interpretation: Although
my role is to help illuminate the landscape on the dream path, only the
dreamer can know the meaning of any symbol or ultimate interpretation, because each dream is tailored specifically to
the language and life circumstances of the dreamer. In this sense,
each dream reveals healing wisdom specific to the dreamer's needs, prayers, and understanding
in the ultimate quest for spiritual healing and happiness.

Lavender Light
|
|
I woke up with a deep, intensely brilliant lavender swirl
approaching me .. the way you would see it in a kaleidoscope. I
have never experienced such Vibrant, rich color before, and
wanted to stay there forever, as it filled me with peace. I did
not want to wake, caught myself trying to engage the lavender
swirl more intensely. But, then I woke up wondering what it
signaled. At times an orb floating toward me, I knew the
lavender swirl was a mystical experience of some kind. Like I
had tapped into God, was in His presence. |
|
Interpretation:
A long time ago, when I did not understand what was going on in my life, I
started having ‘color’ visitations in my dreams. I always understood the
experience to be a communication with Divinity in some way, as if God was
telling me everything was going to be OK, and I did not need to worry about
where I was going. But it was a long time before I knew how to interpret this
presence.
This has happened several times over the years, and first appeared when I
was a student in Seminary, signaling my initiation on a spiritual path.
Unlike other dreams, also noteworthy for unusual landscapes or enlightened
discussions with biblical prophets and other spiritual masters, the colors I
experienced swept over me, as in a cocoon, wrapping me in warmth, peace, and
above all, Love. In time, I learned to equate Lavender with Love, the presence
of Mother Mary by my side as a spiritual guide to keep me going and directed on
a spiritual path. A phenomenal 12th chakra experience … opening the third eye,
and other intuitive senses long dormant in my life. Now, I know each visit
represents a sustained and intense creative period in my life, so look forward
to this supernatural ‘lavender light, because it always yields to an awakening
and the gift of insight.
The color pattern occasionally swaps with turquoise or gold, kaleidoscopic
swirls or other powerful constellations … water color lakes, fluorescent gel
injections, rainbow rain, or sparkling stars pouring color over and all around
me, to Light the Way. And when I am convinced I cannot take another step on my
own, rainbow waterfalls infuse me with the wisdom needed to keep pedaling. In
that dream, I was on a unicycle (delicate balance) in a waterspout, pedaling in
place, trying to get to the top. At some point I am exhausted and yell out to
God, “Lord, I can’t do it, I can’t do it!” And God replies quite calmly, “Yes,
you can. The trick is to keep pedaling.”
It seemed foolish to keep pedaling when I was going nowhere, but suddenly,
I am catapulted to the top where I see the most beautiful rainbow (prosperity,
abundance) on the horizon, through waterfall crystals. A biblical symbol, the
rainbow represented God’s promise of deliverance. That everything would be OK. I
woke up laughing, realizing what an incredible sense of humor God has. He won’t
always give us answers in the form we expect, but will always give us what we
need to keep the spirit of Faith alive.
Summary:
In dreams, as in
reality, Color infuses the healing vibration needed to correct spiritual,
physical and emotional imbalances, so we can achieve harmony, peace and creative
tranquility in our lives. Spiritual students often experience intense, vibrant
colors in unusual patterns and constellations, signaling advanced awareness on
an enlightened path. To know this light within of course, is the ultimate
spiritual quest …
