I. Dreampath Discussion:  Dream Messengers.

When a messenger appears in a dream, it is always for an intended purpose - to let us know with clarity and certainty where we are going, and prepare us for  new transitions and beginnings, so we may heal and learn the lessons needed to fulfill our spiritual roles and destinies.  In such transition dreams, miraculous healings are often performed by Divine messengers and ambassadors of Good Will, who visit us in all dimensions of time and reality to make it clear that we are valued, that our time and talent is needed to connect with the heart of who we are and the hearts of those around us ...

And, once we are committed to the journey and the mission, we are visited often in our dreams by ranking spiritual leaders and healers throughout time who provide personal affirmation and encouragement during times of great transition and stress, to make sure that we make it and know that we will get there ... on time, and with all of the tools and resources we need to fulfill our dreams and our destinies.  It is not unusual for God to appear in person, or Jesus Christ, or the spiritual messenger who is most closely associated to the dreamer.

The messenger in a dream is always tailored to the specific path and spiritual understanding of the dreamer, although the message is universal in its Truth, in every language, dimension and corridor of Time:   When we open up our hearts and embrace who we are with the same passion and priority of purpose that we give to others, we learn in this process, to embrace Love .... .

II. Symbols and Scenes: Messengers and Mailboxes:

Messengers symbolize the delivery of 'spiritual messages' and news in dreams, and appear in unusual or traditional communication symbols. Messengers take on as many forms as there are for delivering messages in reality.  For instance, talking animals are common messengers in spiritual dreams, as are mystics and magical creatures.   Messengers also appear in  traditional symbols  – i.e., UPS or Fedex deliveries, Email or Cell Calls, Telephone operators, Western Union dispatchers, and postal workers.

A Mailbox symbol in a dream represents a central mailing facility, or center 'post' where mail is processed, stamped and post-marked for delivery.  It is also a symbol for universal communication because messages flow in and out from a community 'post', or center.   A letter or package going out is a message the dreamer has delivered,  and a letter or package in the process of delivery to the dreamer symbolizes mail  having to do with someone important to the dreamer in a current life   circumstance.

More generally, a communication symbol in a dream is likewise in reality, a request to communicate … to open up and embrace the message … .   Our dreams will always speak in a language that is unique to our understanding of where we are, so there can be no confusion about the role of the messenger, or the authenticity of the message.

III.  Threads and Themes Messenger Dream Interpretation:

The Dream ...  God and the Unicycle

I am on a unicycle in the middle of a very large waterspout.  No wind, just the water all around me.  Next thing I know, it sucks me up and I am in the middle, caught by centrifugal force, because no matter how fast I pedal, I don’t move.  I tell the Lord, “I can’t do it, Lord, I can’t do it!”  Because It is so hard to keep going in all of that water, but He says to me in a very calm and peaceful voice from above … “Yes, you can.  The trick is to keep pedaling”.

First  layer  –  the personal  path :

A bicycle represents balance, because it is a matter of dexterity to get on a bike, steer it and stay on without falling off.   A tandem bicycle in a dream would be a balancing act for two instead of one, and a unicycle represents a ‘solo’ journey, because it is only designed for one rider with one really big ‘center’ wheel and a very ‘high’ seat.   There are no handle ‘bars’ to hold onto, or ‘speed brakes’ to maneuver.

The application is the same in reality:  a message about a need to  preserve a delicate emotional and spiritual ‘balance’, represented by the unicycle  connected to a water symbol, the ‘downspout’.

The ‘downspout’ is another way of confirming the dreamer’s emotional state at the time … through a play on words.   We refer to hurricanes as 'tropical depressions' before they gain full strength, and describe 'tornadoes' by their main feature, the 'downspout'.  To have this symbol in a dream, thus signals the level of anxiety and fear involved, because the central action in this dream is trying to stay afloat in an emotional storm, represented by the balancing act on the unicycle in the middle of the downspout, the depression.  It is saying, in essence, it is hard to 'keep your head above water' when you are feeling so engulfed, but it can be done, as affirmed by the spiritual messenger.

Second layer - the spiritual path:

Being caught in a waterspout also represents a spiritual storm and message unique to the dreamer's circumstances.  In this dream, the 'balancing act' in the downspout is a positive symbol however, because it speaks to the dreamer's ability to stay upright with very little visible support, again symbolized by the unicycle.  All of the energy goes into staying 'topside' and 'seated' without falling off, which the dreamer does without any apparent effort.  In reality, this also means an expert job of maintaining a delicate emotional and spiritual balance, even though everything appears to be 'spiraling down' and thus out of control.

But a very special messenger arrives as an answered prayer when the dreamer is convinced it is too hard to complete the 'cycle' ride through this crisis in Faith, and delivers the specific message needed:  "The trick is to keep pedaling " ...

In other words, Continue believing and  you will get there … keep pedaling … you won’t fall off … it is enough - Faith- to sustain the balance, force you up through the storm and to the top ... So says the ultimate Messenger of Faith ... Jesus Christ.

IV.  Messenger Mic Does God appear in dreams?

Yes, God does appear in dreams, as this dream demonstrates.  We will always know by a smile, kind eyes, a touch, vibrant colors and calming  words …    God appears in the Way most needed by the dreamer, often as a specific answer to a prayer .... and speaks in a language that is specific to the dreamer so the message cannot be confused or misunderstood …
