Basically, I was pining over a  missed opportunity    with someone that I could no longer find, because when I was diagnosed with cancer, I was shipped off to Maryland for a year, & lost track of that person  "thru  the  ethers" .... because I couldn't tell it in person ... Karen

Inspiration  on Songwriting ...

Most of my songs don't come that simply or immediate. The lyrics  might come quick, but the chord structures took a while - etc. I heard Bob Dylan when I was 8 yrs. old, and he became my hero. At the same time it's so hard to hold yourself to that standard. But I suppose if you're going to "go for it" , better to aim at genius - and hope for the best.         

On occasion, the songs come to me in dreams. The problem with that is that I have a very difficult time trying to memorize the melody upon awakening. But when they do come to me in dream it's always just the melody. No lyrics/chords. It's usually a piano or violin playing the melody, but it's recorded on an old Victrola, which is always in the same room, in the same dream. The only thing that changes is the melodies.
